Sons & Brothers Vineyard is located at 935 metres altitude, in the sub-region of Millthorpe on the cool, continental Orange Plateau portion of the Orange Wine Region, NSW. It is owned by Christopher and Kathryn Bourke. Sons & Brothers is a James Halliday four and a half star rated winery. We, Christopher and Kathryn Bourke, only produce one wine, a Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, bottle-aged, light to medium bodied, soft and elegant, intensely flavoured, dry red. It is grown, made, bottled, bottle-aged, packaged and despatched by us at Sons & Brothers Vineyard in the sub-region of Millthorpe, which is located on the higher eastern plateau portion of the Orange Wine Region. The southern Burgundy-like, cool Millthorpe climate produces a cool continental expression of Cabernet which is more reminiscent of a traditional age-worthy, Burgundian Pinot Noir or Gamay than a present day red Bordeaux. Sons & Brothers is very good drinking on release and just keeps getting better with age. It is only released after years of bottle aging in our purpose built, temperature stable, cellar. It is at its best when decanted and consumed together with a meal. Our wine is a Cabernet for Pinot lovers.
